Bring & Buy Sale
Thursday 18 January 2018
St Stephen's Centre
At the end of our second rehearsal in January, we will be holding our annual Bring and Buy sale in aid of choir funds - the perfect destination for unwanted Christmas presents and any other items that de-cluttering and post-Christmas sort-outs may turn up very much based on the principle that one person's trash is another's treasure!!
Please bring items unpriced, however, as, although we are obviously trying to raise money, the idea is that everyone goes away feeling happy with their bargains.
We will delay our coffee break and end the rehearsal at 9.15 so that members can take their time to browse, play guess-what-it-is (in some cases!) and make their decisions. Must importantly, it is also a chance for the choir to socialise for a bit longer than is usually possible on a normal evening. We will finish by the usual time of 9.45.
In the past, items brought have included home-made chutnies, cordials and cakes, books, CDs, DVDs, children's toys and much, much more! The Bring and Buy is open to any interested party, especially, if they come with plenty of money and a determination to spend it rashly!
A nice £240.96 was raised for choir funds.

Here's a video of us singing Elgar's False Love from Scenes from the Bavarian Highlands.

WWI Remembered
Saturday 24 November 2018
St Stephen's Church, Lansdown, Bath
Bath Cantata Group recalls the end of World War I with a concert full of music for remembrance.
Karl Jenkins’ evocative and powerful The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace leads the billing, dedicated to victims of the Kosovo crisis. Alongside this is Vaughan Williams’ Dona nobis pacem written in 1936 as a plea for peace by referring to recent wars during the growing fears of a new one. John Tavener’s Exhortation & Kohima beautifully state the familiar texts ‘They shall grow not old’ and ‘When you go home, tell them of us and say: For your tomorrow we gave our today’.
This concert promises a moving and poignant evening and we’d be honoured to have you with us.
