Summer Opera

Bath Cantata Group presents a concert performance of one of the gems from the Baroque Period, Henry Purcell's semi-opera King Arthur.

Joined by a baroque band of players and professional soloists Helena Moore soprano, Octavia Lewis soprano, Christopher Pelmore tenor, William Drakett baritone BCG looks forward to welcoming you into the wonderful world of the Baroque.

Come & Sing Choral Workshop

Handel Messiah
Bath Cantata Group (Bath’s longest running chamber choir, established in 1955) is delighted to invite singers to our next Come and Sing Choral Workshop. We will be looking at probably the favourite work in the world ever composed: Handel's Messiah. 

The workshop will take place at St. Luke’s Church, Hatfield Road, Wellsway, Bath, BA2 2BD on Saturday, 1 November 2025. 

The day will be directed by BCG MD Neil Moore and accompanied on St. Luke’s wonderful grand piano by Will Ashworth. 

Beginning at 10 am with registration from 9.30am the day will finish at 4 pm. 

Refreshments in the form of tea, coffee and a selection of cakes will be available throughout the day for a small donation but please bring a packed lunch should you require something more substantial.

You can register, by clicking the "Book Place" button to pay via Ticket Source. Unfortunately there's no option to hire a score online so should you require a score, these will be available to hire on the day at a cost of £2. ​

Aix-en-Provence Post Tour Concert

Christ Church, Christ Church Street West, Frome

Several BCG members joined with Oakfield Choir, Frome at the start of October to head to beautiful Aix-en-Provence to perform a concert jointly with Aix based choir, Opus 13. This concert is designed to let you experience what we sang. Tickets are £10 payable on the door. Refreshments will be served before the 1-hour performance.

70th Anniversary Concert
Saturday, 22 November 2025, 7.30 pm

Bath Cantata Group celebrates its 70th anniversary with a concert featuring Handel’s Messiah.

Joining us for this are soloists Amy Carson soprano, Marie Elliott alto, Keiran White tenor and Timothy Dickinson bass. A period orchestra, led by Maxim Del Mar, will provide scintillating music from sublime continuo to trumpets and drums!

With Neil Moore as Music Director this will be a 70th anniversary to remember.
